Teboho Mokoena scores a penalty for his team's first goal during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A match against Czechia at Atlanta Stadium on Thursday.
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos was brimming with pride after his team produced a solid performance against Czechia, keeping their chances of qualifying for the Fifa World Cup knockout stage alive.
Bafana drew 1-1 with Czechia at a buzzing Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thursday as Teboho Mokoena salvaged a point for his side from the penalty spot, cancelling out Michal Sadilek's early goal.
The South Africans remained bottom of the group with just one point. However, a win in their final clash against South Korea in Monterrey on June 25 would see them seal passage to the Round of 32, at least as one of the eight best third-placed teams in the group stage.
Speaking during his post-match media duties on Fifa TV, Broos said he was pleased with the mentality of his players, who have done enough to ensure their qualification fate remains in their own hands.
