A pub which said it sold more than 5,000 beers to England fans the night before their World Cup opener was forced to close during a watch party for the win over Croatia.The Londoner Pub in Dallas said a fire marshal ordered an early closure time after 'the mayhem that descended on us' with the venue again becoming overcrowded.Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed the pub had been shut down after being 'cited for overcrowding because they were over twice their allowed occupancy load'.Management being directed by fire inspectors had 'exhausted multiple options in an attempt to get to the allowable number, but the crowd was non-compliant'.The pub is understood to have been shut down four minutes before the end of the game which England won 4-2 – and remained closed for two other later matches.Pub bosses said in a statement posted on social media after they had to close in the afternoon: 'We are closed for the rest of the day, on order of the fire marshal. 'Thank you to those of us who saw the mayhem that descended upon us and understand we did our very best to manage the situation.'The sales are overinflated in reports and do not account for the destruction of our property and landscaping. We are incredibly grateful for the business and have done our absolute best to manage it.
