Avangrid Subsidiary NYSEG Completes Major Transmission Upgrades Ahead of Schedule and Under Budget
Avangrid project in New York strengthens grid reliability, saving customers more than $2 million
Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, announced that its subsidiary, New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) has completed upgrades to nearly 13 miles of transmission lines in Allegany and Steuben Counties. The Line 932 project began last September and was completed in May, three months ahead of schedule thanks to NYSEG crews, including 13 lineworkers from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 10. The project was also completed under the original budget estimates and saved New York ratepayers more than $2 million.
