Countries among the most at risk of a humanitarian crisis will see UK aid funding cut by as much as 44 per cent as part of the Government’s decision to slash overseas development spending, The i Paper can reveal.
Conflict zones, such as Ethiopia, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is currently being gripped by an historic Ebola outbreak, will see their share of UK aid fall in the coming years.
It has prompted concerns that the cut in funding will risk fuelling further displacement of people and spark more migration across Europe and into the UK.
