On the battlefield, machine gunners often become a priority target for the enemy.

A fighter from the “Rubizh” Brigade, whose call sign is “Dalniak,” spoke about this in the latest episode of Ukrinform’s “Battle-Tested” series.

“A machine gunner, even in direct contact, is already a priority target. You have to take out the machine gunner first, and then everything else,” the soldier said.

In the latest episode of the series, host Khrystyna Ravliuk, together with “Dalniak,” explored the features of the FN Minimi machine gun—one of the most widely used light machine gun models in NATO forces and Ukrainian units.

The FN Minimi was developed in Belgium back in the 1970s and remains an effective means of supporting infantry on the battlefield to this day.
