Someone forgot to tell the hockey people that it’s soccer season. Yesterday morning, the Leafs hired Jim Hiller to be their new head coach (a surprise to those who followed the search, but a familiar face in Toronto). Last night, the PWHL held its entry draft and Toronto picked creative forward Kristen Simms eighth overall (they’ll need her scoring after the departure of Daryl Watts). Then tonight, the Toronto Marlies will look to finish a sweep in the Calder Cup final. Phew.
