Bali died while on duty June 9 after he was struck by the driver of a vehicle as he conducted an investigation with members of the James Bay OPP detachment near Hearst, Ont., 600 kilometres northwest of Sudbury. The 29-year-old was assigned to the Dufferin detachment and had spent two and a half years with the OPP.
