This vibrant textile installation stretches directly over the Andador 20 de Noviembre, bustling pedestrian corridor, blending centuries-old Mexican craft traditions with global soccer fever.

As the 2026 Fifa World Cup sweeps across North America, Zapopan in Mexico has been transformed by a breathtaking, record-breaking piece of street art.

A massive, hand-crocheted canopy titled "Cielo Tejido" (Woven Sky), also referred to as "The World Cup Forest", blankets the Andador 20 de Noviembre, a highly popular pedestrian street in Zapopan's historic centre.

Stretching 220 meters from the iconic Arches of Zapopan right to the entrance of the main square, this work of art blends centuries-old Mexican craft traditions with global soccer fever.

The masterpiece was created by the Etzatlán Weavers Association (Cielo Tejido collective), founded by mother-and-daughter duo Lorena Ron and Paloma.
