Actor Niamot Ullah Bhuian, popularly known as Zaher Alvi, has surrendered before a Dhaka court and sought bail in a case filed over the alleged suicide of his wife.
His lawyer Sheikh Robayet Islam submitted the surrender and bail petition before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin on Thursday.
The plaintiff says Afra Ibnat Ikra died by suicide due to “prolonged family conflict and different forms of abuse”
The hearing comes after investigators sought permission for extended questioning in the ongoing probe
He is accused of abetting suicide
He has an FIR registered against him over alleged threats to MPA Saqib Chadhar.
