Fox Sports analyst Warren Barton said he was bloodied by an object thrown by a fan during Wednesday's game between Colombia and Uzbekistan at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.Late in the World Cup match, Barton's co-commentator Jacqui Oatley said Barton was “dripping with blood" after he was hit with something from the crowd."Warren's just busy getting assaulted by one of the fans behind us, chucking a cup. I hope it was empty," Oatley said. "Are you all right?"Barton replied: "I think yeah. I've been seeing a few double players but I think that just shows you the frustration [with Colombia's subs]."Moments later, Oatley said: "Warren's got an actual cut to the head. You're dripping with blood. I'm not joking.""No, I know," Barton said. "It's OK. It's good.""How much was it?" Oatley asked. "A full bottle or something?""Whatever it was, I'm OK," Barton said. Barton and Oatley had previously said they had been hit with beer after Daniel Muñoz scored Colombia's opener.Colombia won the match 3-1, with Luis Diaz providing a goal and an assist in his World Cup debut.Fox Sports has been contacted for comment.USA TODAY at the 2026 World CupThe 2026 World Cup is the largest ever, and USA TODAY is going all in with reporters on the ground in all 16 host cities across three countries to cover 48 teams vying for the trophy.
