KARACHI: A day before presenting the Sindh budget for financial year 2026-27, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday reviewed the performance of major revenue-generating departments and directed them to strengthen collection mechanisms and improve fiscal efficiency to support the province’s development agenda.

CM Shah, who also holds the portfolio of finance department, is set to present the province’s budget during the Sindh Assembly session on Wednesday (today).

Before that, he held a meeting with the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB), Excise and Taxation Department and the Board of Revenue (BoR) here at the CM House to take stock of the province’s resource mobilisation and revenue enhancement.

According to a press statement, he stressed the importance of broadening the tax base, improving compliance, plugging revenue leakages and leveraging technology to enhance transparency and efficiency in tax collection.
