The upcoming APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting in Macao will provide an opportunity not only to showcase China, but also to explore new pathways for tourism cooperation and cultural exchange across the Asia-Pacific region, said Pansy Ho Chiu-king, chairperson and founder of the Global Tourism Economy Research Center.
Macao's selection as host reflects the special administrative region's unique strengths as a multicultural destination and its internationally recognized tourism and hospitality capabilities, Ho told reporters on Wednesday.
The meeting will be held in Macao from June 24 to 28.
"It is about discussing how economies across the APEC region can identify new opportunities and approaches for cooperation in culture and tourism," she said.
