Out of an abundance of caution, Runway 4/22 will be temporarily closed beginning at 5 p.m. while crews conduct additional testing, work to identify the cause, and perform any necessary stabilization work,” the airport wrote.LGA said there is no immediate safety concern and that airport officials hope to finish the assessment and any repair work overnight so that the runway can reopen soon.“Operations will occur from Runway 13/31 from 5 p.m. through the duration of the evening with a goal of returning Runway 4/22 to service tomorrow morning.
