Kota: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that the Indian education system "is a rejection system" and an "extortion machine". It makes students focus mostly on five exams such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, SSC and RRB, for which students and their families collectively "spend more money than the annual budget of" the education ministry, he said.Instead, Gandhi wants the education system "to allow students to dream big", like becoming artists, authors, environmentalists, etc, and "help them realise those dreams".At a students' convention in Kota, the first of the four such events Congress has planned against the exam paper leaks, Gandhi neither pointedly attacked the Centre nor demanded the resignation of the Union education minister, saying he would refrain from "politics, BJP-Congress" and will focus on the system. If the late launch of Congress agitation, after Cockroach Janata Party started it's stir, has led to internal whispers, the 23-day gap between Gandhi's Kota convention and his next Allahabad meet (on July 10) has made the party campers sceptical about its sustainability, besides making them wonder whether he is planning any foreign trip in the interim. AICC has so far offered no explanation for the delayed schedule. The last meeting on July 14 is timed with Parliament's monsoon session.
India's education system an extortion machine: Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi has called India's education system a rejection system and an extortion machine. He stated students focus on a few exams, costing families more than the education ministry's budget. Gandhi wants the system to help students pursue dreams like becoming artists or authors. He spoke at a convention in Kota, focusing on the system rather than political attacks.
