One of the most consequential provisions would require the United States to lift the naval blockade imposed during the war and restore maritime traffic within 30 days.
A leaked draft of the interim peace deal between the United States and Iran has revealed a 14-point agreement reached by Washington and Tehran to end the war, reopen vital shipping routes and lay the foundation for a broader peace settlement.
While Washington has yet to officially publish the full text of the peace deal, Reuters, which said it reviewed a copy of the document, reported that the proposed memorandum consists of 14 articles outlining a framework to end the war and begin a 60-day negotiation process expected to commence in Switzerland on Friday.
According to the draft, the U.S., Iran, and their allies involved in the current war would immediately cease hostilities and pledge not to carry out or threaten any further military action against one another, including operations linked to Lebanon.
The document also reportedly commits Tehran and Washington to respecting each other's sovereignty and refraining from interference in internal affairs, while providing for a two-month period of negotiations, extendable by mutual consent, to settle unresolved issues.
