NEW YORK — The city’s New York Knicks championship celebration hit another high mark when Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart simultaneously threw out ceremonial first pitches to wild enthusiasm at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night.The pair — still riding the wave of winning the Knicks’ first NBA title in 53 years — stood side by side in front of the mound and delivered strikes to catcher J.C. Escarra and utility man Max Schuemann, respectively, before the New York Yankees faced the Chicago White Sox.Hart and Brunson, who are close friends, then stood next to Yankees manager Aaron Boone during the national anthem before leaving the field. The pair has long been vocal Yankees fans, and each has previously thrown out a first pitch in the Bronx.There was also a brief “MVP” chant for Brunson, who was named the NBA Finals’ Most Valuable Player.It was another step in the Knicks’ celebration, which kicked off with their championship-clinching victory in Game 5 over the San Antonio Spurs on the road Saturday night. Since then, Knicks players have been all over the city at various events.“I haven’t paid for a meal yet,” Hart told YES Network broadcasters Ryan Ruocco and Paul O’Neill during the game.
