Bafana Bafana have thoroughly analysed the threat posed by their next Group A opponents, the Czech Republic and attacker Thapelo Maseko believes that anyone still doubting the team’s resolve will be silenced by the time their Fifa World Cup 2026 campaign concludes.
Bafana are set to face the European nation in their second group stage match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday night (kick-off 6pm). Following their opening defeat to Mexico, securing a positive result in this fixture is imperative for their survival in the tournament.
A victory over the Czechs is essential if Bafana are to move closer to securing a spot in the knockout stages for the first time in four tournaments. It will be a stern test, however, as the Czechs possess significant squad depth and enter the match as the favourites.
The South Africans, however, will be well-prepared for the challenge. The technical team has studied Repre's 2-1 defeat to South Korea last Friday, where the Europeans squandered a lead to lose the match.
