Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticised popular Hausa musician and staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, urging him to be patriotic and loyal to Nigeria rather than prioritising personal interests and political loyalty above the welfare of citizens.

Davido made the remarks on Wednesday while reacting to comments by Rarara, who had accused him of acting “like a terrorist” for drawing international attention to Nigeria’s worsening insecurity situation, including the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State.

The exchange followed criticism from Rarara over Davido’s recent international performance where he drew attention to the security challenges in Nigeria, which the Hausa musician reportedly described as damaging to the country’s image abroad.

Responding in a message posted on his official X handle, Davido defended his position, insisting that no patriotic Nigerian should remain silent in the face of the country’s security challenges.

According to the global Afrobeats star, “First of all, anyone who truly loves Nigeria will not remain silent about the insecurity problems troubling the country, nor will they try to stop others from expressing their concerns about it.
