June 17 (UPI) -- Rex Heuermann, who pleaded guilty in April to the murders of seven women in Long Island, N.Y., and admitted to one more, will be sentenced Wednesday.

Heuermann, 62, admitted to the murders as part of a plea agreement. He is expected to be sentenced to life in prison without parole, three consecutive life sentences, followed by four sentences of 25 years to life.

Heuermann had pleaded not guilty to killing the women and dumping their bodies near Gilgo Beach on Long Island but changed his plea at a hearing in Suffolk County Court. He also admitted that he intentionally caused the death of Karen Vergata, 34, of Manhattan, and left her remains.

Suffolk County district attorney Ray Tierney said the court will hear two victim impact statements for each victim, The Guardian reported. Heuermann's ex-wife, Asa Ellerup, and their daughter, are not expected to attend.
