The Google Home Speaker will finally launch and hit store shelves next week with pre-orders starting today in 18 countries.
This device was first teased at Made by Google 2025 last August with more details released in October.
The Google Home Speaker is Google’s first device built with the Gemini for Home voice assistant. On the hardware front, there’s uniform 360-degree sound, with the company touting balanced audio across songs, podcasts, and movies. Compared to the Nest Mini, you get a 2x larger driver (58 mm) and 2.5x stronger bass.
There are three far-field microphones with a toggle switch to mute them. A light ring at the base of the Google Home Speaker provides a dynamic glow to convey when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding.
There are also three capacitive touch areas on the top surface. The left and right controls let you adjust volume, while a center tap lets you play/pause.
