Mike Myers has claimed that a long-awaited fourth “Austin Powers” movie is happening, albeit with a single word and absolutely zero elaboration.

As a guest on “Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party,” Myers — who currently stars as Powers in a new Verizon commercial — was asked by a fan: “Are we ever going to see an Austin Powers 4.”

Myers’ swift, monosyllabic reply was a solitary “Yes!” (to which Noah responded with a “wow, that was a quick yes!”). No further details were offered.

What’ “yes” exactly means is extremely unclear, but a fourth “Austin Powers” film, if it is indeed happening, would likely arrive a good 25 years after the last instalment in the phenomenally successful spoof spy trilogy, all created by Myers, directed by Jay Roach and co-produced and released by New Line Cinema.

While the films — about a ’60s British spy (played by Myers) frozen for 30 years and brought back in the ’90s to battle his old nemesis Dr. Evil (also Myers) — might seem a little dated in today’s world, the wildly-dressed character with his frilly ruffled shirts and catchphrases of “Groovy Baby” and “Do I make you horny?” mostly confined to fancy dress parties, the impact when they launched almost 30 years ago is undeniable.
