No fewer than nine persons were reportedly killed, while 11 others sustained injuries following an attack on Angwan Magaji community in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a community bordering Plateau State.
The incident, which occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, has raised fresh concerns over insecurity affecting communities along the Kaduna–Plateau axis.
According to a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youth Movement, Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, the attackers invaded the community and opened fire on residents.
