Scotland fans have been a revelation at the Fifa World Cup.

From their boisterous cheering to their impeccable hygiene at fan zones across Boston, Scottish football fans have earned global praise for their exemplary behaviour at the Fifa World Cup.

For decades, the "Tartan Army" has been regarded as one of football's most colourful and passionate travelling fanbases. This week, however, Scotland's supporters have shown the world that they are about far more than just kilts, bagpipes and beer.

Following Scotland's historic 1-0 victory over Haiti in their opening Group G match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, thousands of supporters transformed Massachusetts into a sea of blue and white. Streets were packed with singing fans, pubs overflowed with visitors, and celebrations stretched long into the night as Scots toasted their country's first World Cup finals win since 1990.

The partying was so intense that several local venues simply could not keep up with demand. The Anchor, a popular bar in Boston which had become an unofficial headquarters for Scotland supporters, reportedly ran out of major beer brands despite months of preparation and extensive stockpiling.
