Many had to take second jobs to make ends meet whilst rookie NFL players earned at least $750,000 (£558,900) annually.The pay dispute became a central storyline in the show's second season, with cheerleaders holding meetings and even considering walkouts during games.Jada McLean, who helped secure the new deal, told TIME magazine: "We didn't want to let people down who were so excited to see the cheerleaders after supporting us through the first season of our television show."Veteran cheerleaders can now earn around $150,000 (£111,770) annually following what's been described as a "life-changing" 400% salary increase.
