A 20-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her live-in partner following a quarrel, in Malleswaram in the jurisdiction of the Seshadripuram Police Station.The victim has been identified as Anusha N.D., 20, while the accused, Sharath, 25, works as a water tanker driver. Both are natives of Sakleshpur and had reportedly been living together for the past six months after becoming acquainted through social media.According to the police, the incident occurred on June 13 when an argument broke out between the couple and escalated. During the altercation, Sharath allegedly strangled Anusha.The crime came to light June 14 after Sharath reportedly informed a friend, who is a lawyer, about the murder. The lawyer subsequently alerted the police.Acting on the information, the police went to the house and found it locked. After noticing the house key near a window, officers gained entry and discovered Anusha’s body inside. The body was shifted to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem.The police have arrested Sharath and taken him into custody for further questioning.
