For Thabang Mokoena, electricity is more than a trade – it is a passion that he hopes will one day help him build a lasting legacy.
The young artisan electrician from Thabong, near Welkom, recently qualified through the Free State Department of Public Works and Infrastructure's Artisan Development Programme, marking a significant milestone in a journey driven by determination, hard work and a desire to create a better future for himself and his family.
Mokoena, who grew up in a section of Thabong known as Las Vegas, says he has always been fascinated by electricity and the role it plays in people's daily lives.
“I want to be a powerhouse in the field of electricity and leave a long-lasting legacy,” he said.
