Once you go dual, you never go back. Unfortunately, I have to, but you get the idea.10:07, 17 Jun 2026The 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo is a work of art. It's also a laptop, and a pretty special one at that: the world’s first dual 16-inch-screen gaming laptop. I think it may have ruined all other laptops for me.Right from the moment you unbox ROG's new flagship laptop, it's very apparent that this is an ultra-premium product, with the packaging and box it comes in feeling incredibly weighty and high-end. Once it's out of the box, though, that's when the real magic begins.Let's dive into this laptop's design, performance and features, including the stunning dual screen set up, and how it performs during gaming workloads.2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo design and featuresThe 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo features arguably the best laptop screen on the market today. It's got a 16-inch, 3k (2880 x 1800) ROG Nebula HDR OLED touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 0.2ms response time, rated at 1100 nits of brightness. And, as you may have guessed, there are two of them!More on the displays later, and how two screens on one laptop actually works in practice, because there's still some specs to through, and they're bleeding edge. The model I've been provided with has an NVIDIA RTX 5090 laptop GPU, with 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 1824 AI TOPS; it's the best laptop graphics you can get. And onto the CPU, it's Intel's latest, the Panther Lake Ultra 9 386H, with 16 cores, 4.9 GHz boost and a built-in NPU with 50 AI TOPS. You also get up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to a 2TB PCIe 5.0 NNMe SSD, depending on the exact model. It's also got super impressive IO, which I'll list down below:1x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack1x HDMI 2.1 FRL support HDMI switch2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (data speed up to 10Gbps)2x Thunderbolt™ 4 with support for DisplayPort™ / power delivery (data speed up to 40Gbps)1x card reader (SD) (UHS-II, 312MB/s)In terms of the design, this thing feels and looks exquisite thanks to its CNC-machined aluminium chassis, which also features an excimer coating to the keycaps as well as the top and bottom lids, giving it a matte, smudge-resistant finish. It also comes with a wireless keyboard that attaches magnetically to the frame/screen as and when you need it. At 5.1mm, I wasn't expecting much from it, and I never expect much with wireless detachable keyboards, but this example is probably the best I've ever used. Despite the thinness, it's got a key travel distance of 1.7mm, it's got RGB and a massive touchpad, meaning it feels genuinely good to use.2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo performanceTalking of using it, let's explain how this dual-screen setup works. Essentially, this laptop has five distinct modes: dual screen mode (with the screens on top of each other), laptop mode (with the keyboard placed on the bottom screen), sharing mode (both screens flat), book mode (two screens side by side in vertical orientation) and tent mode (displays set in an A frame).I can see the benefits of each mode, but for my personal workflow, I've used it most in dual-screen mode and normal laptop mode, although I can imagine how useful the book mode would be for programmers, etc.Having one laptop screen of this quality would have been more than enough, but having two has been incredible to use day to day. When using it for work, having that screen real estate available has been super helpful. For gaming, it's not a perfect set-up, as you can only really use one at a time, and even then, having two displays on at the same time does impact performance overall. But, even still, the screens are absolutely gorgeous, and Forza Horizon 6 looks incredible on either display. The gaming performance, despite the extra display, remains impressive, although probably not as impressive as single-display laptops of this calibre. It can easily run modern AAA games at Ultra, with Forza Horizon 6 averaging around 70 fps natively and over 200 fps with DLSS 4 enabled, while Cyberpunk 2077 ran at around 55 fps with the same setting, with over 160 fps when using DLSS.Article continues belowI can see the dual screens coming in super handy for streaming or content creation, but as a pure gaming machine, it's not the absolute best in terms of performance, but as an experience? It's right up there.2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo overall thoughtsOverall, then, the 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo is one of the few laptops I've used that has a genuine wow factor. The stunning dual 3K OLED screens, combined with top-tier performance and an ultra-premium build, make this an absurd laptop that has to be seen to be believed. At a staggering £5,799.00, unfortunately, most people will never be able to justify buying this laptop, and it is a ridiculous price. But this is a ridiculous laptop, and if you have a ridiculous budget, it won't disappoint.
