The 66-year-old revealed the news in the final episodes of season five of his show, Clarkson's Farm, saying that he had known since May. His diagnosis followed a medical check-up and biopsy, which confirmed the cancer was aggressive but caught at a "really early" stage. Clarkson underwent a procedure to remove part of his prostate, with 10 per cent of it affected by the cancer.
