BEIRUT -- Four people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli drone strikes targeting Mayfadoun in southern Lebanon on Tuesday afternoon, according to a preliminary toll reported by Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA).

Israeli attacks intensified in the Nabatieh area, where a drone first targeted a vehicle in Mayfadoun before striking the area again after residents gathered at the scene. A second vehicle was later targeted in the same area. The attacks in Mayfadoun resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to several others, according to NNA.

Civil defense teams from the Islamic Health Society, the Islamic Risala Scout Association, and the Lebanese Red Cross worked to evacuate the dead and wounded from the targeted locations.

The Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said the cumulative toll from hostilities in Lebanon between March 2 and June 16 has reached 3,826 dead and 11,851 injured.

Iran and the United States finalized a peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday, which is also expected to end fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
