The 43-year-old takes charge of the Slovak champions in his first senior managerial position.
Yaya Touré has won the Champions League, claimed three Premier League titles and played alongside some of the finest footballers of his generation.
Now the former Ivory Coast midfielder faces what may be the biggest challenge of his post-playing career: leading Slovan Bratislava in his first senior managerial role.
The 43-year-old was unveiled on Tuesday as head coach of the Slovak champions. He succeeds Vladimír Weiss Sr., who oversaw one of the most successful periods in the club's history.
Touré arrives with a glittering playing career behind him but limited coaching experience. Since retiring, he has worked with youth teams at Tottenham Hotspur and served as an assistant coach in Ukraine, Russia and Belgium, as well as with Saudi Arabia's national team under Roberto Mancini.
