With last week’s BBC One final watched by 10 million viewers, a record for a “civilian” series of the murder mystery game, the Traitors’ producers are seeking new avenues to capitalise on a hit that already spawned a board game, card game, a live “immersive experience” in London and a lucrative merchandise business.

A Traitors play, telling a fresh narrative story adapted from the programme’s format, in which a group of faithfuls try to root out the traitors in their ranks, will open at an unnamed London venue next year.
