The Valaliky project would create 335 jobs and produce forged rings for the aerospace, energy and nuclear sectors.
A Chinese manufacturer of advanced forged metal components plans to invest €105 million in a new plant in eastern Slovakia, adding another major industrial project to the rapidly developing Valaliky industrial park near Košice.
Slovakia Advanced Material, a subsidiary of China's Guizhou Aviation Technical Development, intends to build a factory producing forged rings from superalloys, titanium alloys and specialised steels used in aircraft engines, gas turbines and nuclear energy equipment, according to Index.
The project, currently undergoing environmental assessment, is expected to create 335 jobs and begin production by the end of 2028.
The factory will be built in the Valaliky industrial park, close to Volvo Cars' planned manufacturing complex and near the municipalities of Haniska, Geča and Čaňa. According to project documentation, the plant will have capacity to produce up to 80,000 forged rings a year and operate on a continuous three-shift basis.
