Father’s Day is approaching on June 21, and brands from Fireball to Miller Lite are celebrating with campaigns centered around “ultimate dad shoes,” “dadfirmations” hotlines and “dad bod” fanny packs. Here’s what five brands are up to ahead of Sunday.Miller Lite offers fathers broken hammocks and chairs to fixInstead of Father’s Day mugs or framed pictures, beer brand Miller Lite is offering fathers “leaky golf umbrellas,” “teetering hammocks” and “crumbling camping chairs” this year with its limited-edition Fix-Packs. “Real ones know dad just wants to fix stuff with you and drink beer,” Miller Lite wrote when advertising the Fix-Packs on Instagram. Retailing for $7.99 – the price of a Miller’s Lite six-pack – each Fix-Pack includes a “curated, busted” item for fathers to fix with their grown children; and a rebate to purchase a Miller’s Lite six-pack, according to a brand statement. Each item arrives in custom Father’s Day packaging with a personalized gift message.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Miller Lite (@millerlite)HeyDude debuts the ‘ultimate dad shoe’ at Home DepotCrocs-owned shoe brand, HeyDude, gave fans a sneak peek of the “ultimate dad” sneaker on June 11 with an event located in New York City’s flagship Home Depot location. The event included a meet-and-greet with Steven Smith – a designer for Crocs, Yeezy, New Balance, Reebok, Nike and Adidas – who designed the limited-edition Stride S Father’s Day shoe. HeyDude’s Stride S shoe will drop in North America on Father’s Day at 9 a.m. The white and grey sneaker, retailing for $99.99 on HeyDude’s website, features a new EverComf high-rebound foam midsole for “energized cushioning,” according to a brand statement.Carter’s creates ‘Dadfirmations’ hotlineWhen asked what they want for Father’s Day this year, 65% of fathers answered: “words of affirmation,” according to internal data from youth apparel brand Carter’s.In response, Carter’s launched a Dadfirmations national hotline for kids to record uplifting messages “sharing why their dad is special,” according to the brand’s announcement. From June 16-21, families can call 1-844‑DADS-RULE to record their message; and on Father’s Day, dads can dial that same number to hear the messages.(Photo credit: Carter’s, used with permission)Moen creates a porta-potty retreat for dads to ‘escape’Based on the “all-too-relatable truth that dads sometimes retreat to the bathroom for a little peace and quiet,” kitchen and bathroom fixture company Moen launched the Port-A-Suite, a custom bathroom “oasis” to be built in one father’s backyard. Only one Port-A-Suite will be available to the fastest buyer to purchase the rustic exterior, smart-locked bathroom on Moen’s website on June 20 at 10 a.m. Valued at over $50,000, the Port-A-Suite will retail for $621 and will be outfitted with a urinal and a voice, phone and controller-operated Moen Smart Shower. The buyer will have the option to upgrade their suite with Moen’s 5-Series Electric Cleansing Toilet, according to Moen’s announcement.(Photo credit: Moen, used with permission)Fireball declares the ‘dad bod’ endangeredThe rise of GLP-1s and today’s protein-obsessed culture is endangering the “dad bod,” Fireball declared in its Father’s Day campaign. To bring “dad bods” back, the cinnamon-flavored whisky brand launched the Dad Bod Whisky Fanny Pack – a realistic, hairy belly that straps around dad’s waists and comes preloaded with 35 shots of Fireball and a built-in spout.Retailing for $24.99, the limited-edition bag “celebrates those who proudly live the lawn chair, cargo shorts, and high white socks lifestyle, complete with a tattoo spanning over the belly button,” according to a brand statement. To spread the word, Fireball tapped Southern Charm stars Austen Kroll and Salley Carson for an emotional PSA-style campaign inspired by “early-2000s animal rescue commercials," according to a brand statement. Both stars sport the fanny pack and spotlight its pouring capabilities in the ad.Which brand’s Father’s Day campaign is your favorite?
