Iran’s deputy foreign minister announced that the signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to end the war between Iran and the United States will be attended by Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and JD Vance, vice president of the United States.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, June 16, Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that following the signing of the memorandum, talks regarding nuclear issues will commence, noting that they have not yet entered into specific details. According to him, topics such as enrichment, uranium stockpiles, and Iran’s nuclear needs remain on the negotiation agenda.

According to the report, Iran and the United States had previously signed the memorandum of understanding electronically, a general document described by an American official as being around “one and a half pages” long, which effectively brought an end to the “war on all fronts.”

Under the announced agreement, following the official signing this Friday, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened immediately, and the U.S. military’s naval blockade of Iranian ports will be lifted. Both sides will then have a 60-day window to reach a final agreement on disputed issues, particularly Iran’s nuclear file.
