A massive anti-drug awareness rally was organised by the district police at Anakapalli on Tuesday.The programme, commenced from NTR Stadium, proceeded through the town’s main lanes before culminating at the Four Road Junction.The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of residents, youth, students, yoga organisations and voluntary organisations. Participants carried placards and banners highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need for a drug-free society.Addressing the gathering, the police officials urged the youth not to fall prey to drug addiction. They called upon the citizens to play a responsible role in building a drug-free society and supporting efforts to eradicate drug abuse. The officials also informed the public that individuals seeking help to overcome addiction can approach police or rehabilitation services through the toll-free helpline 1972.
