The family members of one Gade Sai Krishna (26) alleged on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) that he has been illegally held by the police under the NTR Commissionerate for over a month. They stated that the police did not register a missing person’s case and were not disclosing Sai Krishna’s whereabouts. They demanded that the government take action against the responsible police officers.According to Sai Krishna’s mother, G. Unable to bear the harassment, Sai Krishna migrated to Markapuram, where he was working as a labourer. However, on May 9, two policemen from the Krishna Lanka police station reportedly picked him up from Markapuram in connection with a case. The police did not produce him in court, and he has been missing since then, Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi alleged. She filed a habeas corpus petition in the High Court, which directed the Krishna Lanka police to produce the victim on June 15. As they could not produce Mr. Sai Krishna, the court directed the police to produce him by June 29.When contacted, NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu did not respond to phone calls.
