MANILA, Philippines – A subsidy program providing ₱15,000 annually to qualified students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses will be launched by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

GSIS, in a statement on Tuesday, said the subsidy will benefit incoming first-time college freshmen who obtained at least a 90-percent general weighted average in senior high school and enroll in identified STEM degree programs.
