bigbasket co-founder Hari Menon has stepped down as chief executive officer of the Tata Group-backed online grocery and quick-commerce company.

He is handing over the reins to former Amazon India executive Amit Nanda as the business prepares for its next phase of growth.

The leadership transition marks the end of an era for one of India's earliest online grocery pioneers.

While Menon will relinquish day-to-day management responsibilities, he and fellow co-founder Vipul Parekh will remain on the board and continue mentoring the company’s leadership team.

Nanda, who spent more than a decade at Amazon India in a range of senior leadership roles, has been appointed CEO and will be responsible for steering bigbasket through an increasingly competitive quick-commerce market.
