The upcoming series features the likes of Dominic Cooper, Romola Garai, Shelley Conn and Matthew McNulty.14:04, 16 Jun 2026Adultery teaser trailer for new ITV dramaITV has shared a first-look trailer at its upcoming drama, Adultery.The six-part series, which is set to air this autumn, stars the likes of Atonement star Romola Garai and Mamma Mia!'s Dominic Cooper.Also joining them are Bridgerton's Shelley Conn and After the Flood's Matthew McNulty in a story of 'forbidden desire'.A synopsis for the ITV show reads: "Adultery is a provocative love story of passion, parenthood and peril that raises questions about class, grief and the effects of social media."Naturally authentic and bristling with forbidden desire, it focuses on two families and the love affair that threatens to uproot their whole lives.Adultery follows the lives of Tom Kirkman (Dominic Cooper) and Beth Brookes (Romola Garai), who share an intense, immediate connection when they first meet.However, the issue is that Tom's teenage daughter is seeing Beth's son, Ollie.While Tom and Beth find it hard to deny their chemistry, they must grapple with their guilt and the potential consequences for their families and partners, Hannah (Shelley Conn) and Neil (Matthew McNulty).The six-part series will raise the question: Will they be able to control their desires, unlike their lovestruck teenagers?In the trailer, a voiceover can be heard saying: "There's a psychological equation. Attraction, plus an obstacle, equals excitement. But what happens if the attraction is too strong? What then?"While the voice is playing, a sequence of clips is shown of Tom and Beth's interactions, from their initial meeting to taking things a step further.One clip showed them being caught kissing on a door camera while Tom's daughter watches, horrified.Another shows two men having a violent confrontation while Beth is seen running down the street at night in tears.Sharing the trailer on their socials, it wasn't long before people commented on the sneak peek, with many sharing their excitement.One person said: "Been waiting for this one!
