Work will be executed in about a month to revamp the old sewage pumping station at Vivekananda Nagar in Korattur. An odour control unit will be installed at the facility as a public health measure.A press release said preliminary work was in progress to revamp the sewage pumping station, with a sewage handling capacity of 3.5 million litres a day. Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) Managing Director T. Anand inspected the facility on Tuesday (June 16, 2026). He also reviewed the operation of the 42-mld Korattur sewage pumping station, which has been automated with internet of things.
