Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the key priorities discussed during the G7–Ukraine meeting at the G7 Summit were increasing the supply of air-defense missiles, securing licenses for their production, preparing a support package for the winter, and intensifying pressure on Russia.
The President announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“First multilateral meeting today – the G7–Ukraine format at the G7 Summit. (...) Priorities are clear: more air defense missiles along with licenses to produce them, winter support package, and cranking up pressure on Russia. Importantly, the U.S. is ready to provide backstop across these lines of effort,” Zelensky wrote.
He stressed that the key task now is to implement all agreements already reached. Zelensky also emphasized that Russia must understand that its war can never become the norm.
The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, U.S. President Donald Trump, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, President of the European Council António Costa, and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen for their participation and for proposing strong ideas on how to force Russia into peace.
