According to the police, the fresh discoveries include a pump-action gun, a single-barrel gun, a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, two locally made single-barrel pistols and a locally made double-barrel pistol.
The Oyo State Police Command has announced the recovery of additional firearms, ammunition, vehicles and other items linked to the ongoing investigation of Surajudeen Babatunde Adio, popularly known as “Surii Ilupeju,” who was recently arrested alongside four others over alleged armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
The latest recovery comes days after the Command disclosed the arrest of the suspects, indicating that investigators have continued to uncover what appears to be an extensive network of weapons and assets believed to be connected to the case.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command said sustained intelligence gathering and further interrogation of the suspects led operatives to several locations where additional exhibits were recovered.
