Businessman and politician, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has slammed the Nigerian government for failing to end the country's worsening security crisis, warning that Nigeria is sliding into a full-blown national security disaster amid escalating terrorist attacks, mass abductions and killings across the country.
Hayatu-Deen's warning came following the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar in the custody of kidnappers, a tragedy he described as evidence of the growing collapse of public safety and state authority.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Hayatu-Deen described the late military officer’s death as a tragic reflection of the growing insecurity across the country.
He lamented that even those who dedicated their lives to serving Nigeria are no longer safe after retirement.
