Flames engulfed the Kapotnya Oil Refinery just ten miles from the Kremlin, as smoke poured over the city'We offered Putin to meet anywhere where real decisions could be made to end the war. He doesn't want that,' he said.'We discussed with the US and France the possibility of a meeting with Russia on the sidelines of the G7 summit involving all democratic states, but Putin doesn't want that either.'The Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a close Putin ally, claimed at least 60 drones had been shot down, but he admitted damage had been caused to the refinery, adding there were no casualties.'Over the past 24 hours, enemy drones have continued to attack Moscow,' said the mayor.'One of the drones damaged a facility at the Moscow Refinery. There were no casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene.'The strike follows a Russian missile and drone blitzkrieg on Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday when five were killed and massive damage was inflicted on an 11th century cathedral. The Kapotnya refinery supplies up to 40 per cent of the capital's overall fuel market and 70 per cent of Moscow and the surrounding region's petrol needs. The hit came despite recent efforts to strengthen the city's air defences. The refinery is the best protected in Russia yet the defences were breached, as Ukrainian drones were seen manoeuvring threateningly in the skies above the city.A residential building was hit by a downed drone in suburb Elektrostal, Moscow region, and another hit a building under construction in Kotelniki district.Separately, Ukraine hit a massive fuel depot in the village of Poltava in Krasnodar region, 240 miles from the frontline, and key Palkino pumping station on the Baltic Pipeline System in Yaroslavl region, 150 miles north of Moscow. The constant Ukraine strikes at Russia's oil hubs are starting to cripple the Russian economy, with fuel rationing or shortages in at least 25 regions. This is despite Russia being one of the world's top three oil producers.Ukraine has almost blocked new fuel supplies to Crimea and other invaded areas with attacks on tankers and other trucks, as well as key bridges. A startling video shows a Russian military fuel truck hit on the Nova Kakhovka to Melitopol routeA startling video shows a Russian military fuel truck hit on the Nova Kakhovka to Melitopol route, strangling oil supplies to occupied Black Sea peninsula Crimea.Zelensky today thanked his armed forces and security services for the strike on Moscow.Speaking from the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, he claimed responsibility for the attack on the Russian capital's main oil refinery, located over 300 miles away.'I thank the warriors of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Missile Forces for their effective work,' he said.'Russia must be compelled to bring its war against our people to an end. Ukraine's long-range weapons are one of the key elements of that pressure.'This is a just response to Russian strikes and to prolonging a war that must end.'Meanwhile, Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 132 drones.Eight people were injured in a Russian attack on civilian housing in Balaklia in the Kharkiv region.
