The motorway that connects Liverpool and Manchester is shut on the westbound carriageway between J8 Burtonwood and J7 Rainhill after a collision involving one car.National Highways say a vehicle 'left the carriageway' in the incident and emergency services are on the scene.There are expected to be lengthy delays with traffic already building in the area.
