LAPD Officer Kills Dog Of Resident Who Was Celebrating Knicks VictoryA Los Angeles police officer killed a woman’s dog in Canoga Park, Calif., on Saturday night after a neighbor called 911 to report shouting during the NBA championship game. While responding to the call, an officer reportedly asked Marie Marseille, who is from New York, to put away her dog, Jameson. The 2-year-old Golden Saint Berdoodle somehow evaded Marseille and began walking towards the officer."The next thing I know, Jameson is lying on the ground," Marseille told FOX 11, describing the LAPD’s shooting of her dog. "But Jameson wasn’t baring his teeth, he wasn’t growling, he wasn’t aggressive, he wasn’t barking. He was just moving toward the officer."Harrowing video footage of the aftermath has garnered upward of 2 million views online. In the video, a neighbor can be heard telling police, "What is the purpose of all of you?" "This is what we pay for?!" a neighbor said. The LAPD justified killing Jameson in a statement.“The officers contacted the resident in the apartment unit; while speaking with the resident, a large dog was by her side barking at the officers,” the statement read. “The officers asked her to secure the dog, and the resident closed her door momentarily. She re-opened the door, and the dog exited the apartment. Once outside of the apartment, the dog charged at one of the officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS).”Latest Live UpdatesEpstein Gave Cash To Deputy, May Have Received Special Treatment In Jail, Ex-Aide SaysDisgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein allegedly gave money to a deputy at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office while he was incarcerated and may have received special treatment in exchange, according to one of his former aides. “I know that he arranged to have cash and, like, Disneyland tickets, taken to one of the officers in the jail and I’m not sure what he received with that,” Sarah Kellen, Epstein’s longtime former assistant, said in a closed-door interview before the House Oversight Committee in May. Epstein served his sentence for soliciting an underage girl for prostitution at the Palm Beach County Stockade between 2008 and 2009. While there, he was able to stay in a private wing of the facility, use Skype and obtain work release, which allowed him to leave the jail for 12 hours a day for much of the week. “The Epstein investigation did not reveal these allegations, and they were never investigated in connection with that case,” Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Therese Barbera told The Miami Herald.
