Amorim’s appointment is part of a thorough and robust process to restructure Milan after Allegri and the executive team were sacked following the failure to qualify for the Champions League.Allegri left in May alongside sporting director Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada in a radical shake-up at the top of the club. One of the first issues Amorim may have to deal with at Milan is wantaway forward Rafael Leao. The 27-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Milan this summer, telling Portuguese media company SportTV: “I need a new challenge. I already won two trophies in Italy and have been there for a while.“The league (Serie A) is evolving, but for my style of football, I think the Premier League or La Liga would make more of my talent. If a Premier League opportunity were to come along, I would be very happy.”Milan finished fifth in Serie A and will play in the Europa League next season.Jun 16, 2026Connections: Sports EditionSpot the pattern.
