CAIRO: Syria’s state-owned telecom operator said an international undersea cable between the city of Tartous and Egypt’s Alexandria was subjected to an “act of sabotage,” affecting Internet service for users across Syria.
Syrian Telecom told state-owned news agency SANA the maintenance of the cable and full resumption of services would take time, adding that the act cannot be separated from what it described as a “systematic sabotage campaign” targeting the country’s infrastructure.
