A leading South African private education provider, Curro Holdings, has directed parents and guardians of foreign national learners to submit updated immigration documents as part of what it described as a "Termly Foreign Learner Compliance Audit."

The move has reignited concerns among migrant communities amid the country's long history of xenophobic attacks targeting foreign nationals, including Nigerians.

In a notice circulated to parents and guardians and seen by SaharaReporters, Curro requested all foreign learners enrolled in its schools to provide valid immigration documentation in line with requirements of South Africa's Department of Home Affairs.

The school said the exercise was aimed at ensuring its records remain compliant with government regulations governing foreign nationals residing and studying in the country.
