Growing interest in green burials has helped this coffin weaver take on the work full-time

As the effects of climate change seep into our everyday lives, more Americans are starting to think twice about the carbon footprint they’re leaving behind. Mary Lauren Fraser is a business owner whose work fits into the green burial movement. She weaves coffins made primarily of willow and pine that are completely biodegradable. As the green burial movement has grown, she’s been able to take her business full-time, weaving 12 to 15 coffins every year.
